We are having one of "those days" and I keep having to walk away. I am about to pack it in for the day because we are getting no where. He is trying to be goofy and cute, and I am just trying to get through a social studies lesson. He is trying to play with Molly (who is trying to color), pretending that Dorothy is "getting on his nerves" but she is sleeping, and he says that Mary is sending him messages through the air (she is in her room and can not be seen or heard). I am kindof thinking that 5 days a week is just too much for him and since we can definately get done in 4 days (yeah, we are ahead in everything) we are just going to give up on Fri for lessons and kindof unschool on this day.
This has been a trip week for us, too. Between appointments and classes, not a lot got done. I hung it up, too, today.
I agree ...It has been a really off week.but that's ok cause we are ahead of schedule.I think we are going to do some shopping mall math.
We stopped having school on Fridays. We now direct that attention to volunteer work at the local nursing home. We usually spend about 2 hours there. Most Fridays they go to grandma's and granddads house for the night. This gives us a break from each other. If you are unable to send them to the grandparents for the night. Maybe you should save Fridays for the shopping day. Get out of the house go somewhere. Choose a place that you can learn about different things.
Would your parents or in-laws like 3 more kids on Fridays. It would be fun for them. A pj party. LOL Scott works a swing shift so we may have a day during the week we either have light school or no school too. It just depends on what is going on and if we plan to go somewhere or just stay home. Everyone has to be flexible. That sure is part of homeschooling isn't it. It always works out fine.
I try to make sure we're on schedule with math, but the other stuff can be worked out. We get so much more done per day than ps, that I don't worry about ocasional off-days.
