    Hi all!

I guess I just need confirmation that I am thinking right and not allowing for any holes here… Last year we did "A Reason for…" handwriting curriculum for my then kindergartener and 3rd grader (cursive). I am now wondering if I need to continue it with my now 1st grader? We are going to use Horizons Phonics/Reading and Spelling curricula and it sure seems to have plenty of writing practice. Thoughts?

If you think it's enough handwriting practice, it probably is. Maybe have that one do a complete alphabet once in awhile, so as not to forget those rare letters that aren't used often in words like Qq and Zz. I would have the now-4th grader continue with cursive practice, though, because muscle control is still developing for awhile yet. If I remember, we still (in school a bazillion years ago) had handwriting practice through 5th or 6th grade.
