I got a parcel slip in my mailbox yesterday and picked it up today!! my "Valentine" was "the Davis family" but I don't know who that is! My boys were so excited to open it- lots of candy, and some really cute pens- one with tiny "barrel of monkeys" and one with tiny tinker toys in the top of the pen. also there was a neat "coupon book" for the family. Thank you! It was so sweet! I'd like to know who you are, "Valentine"!
lovetruesoul, your secert pal was mommix3. Sure glad everyone got theres. thanks ladies for making this fun.
This was fun....I liked hearing what was in everyones boxes!! Thanks Kris for doing this....and hope we can do this again!!
Lorna, I will get you in next time, I am so glad everyone one had fun doing this. What theme should we do next? Our state theme, thats where you put everything in the box from your state. Or another holiday theme. or just because theme.
Kris, Did every one get their boxes?? I thought 2 were still waiting (no mail today). I would suggest an Easter theme, but I think that might be tricky since some do E.B. while for others its just strictly religious. So maybe a spring hello. I'm currently waiting on my name for the current TOH swap called hippity hoppity flower pot swap, don't ya just love the name, the theme this time is to fill a small flower pot with spring things from St. Patricks day til' easter we send first week in March. Other ideas could be: a book mark swap sticker swap coffee/tea cup swap stationary swap book swap home made swap craft swap garden swap magnet swap *a lot of the ones mentioned could be contianed to a regular or padded envelope and wouldn't cost so much. To mail, Yet still be tons of fun. Also Kris, I like your state swap idea.
wow, amy they all sound wonderful, hopefully we hear from some other ladies and see what they think. Then we can get another one going here in a few weeks. I love the padded envelope ones Amy, they are cheaper. the boxes were alittle high but it was fun.
I love those ideas, too. And I agree with the padded envelope idea...especially if we are going to do this more frequently. Maybe at christmas we can splurge and do the box??
Padded envelope is good! The boxes were kind of expensive. But it was great fun! I think Leslie has a good idea with the others being more padded envelope ideas, and the Christmas one a box!
I'm going to back out on the Easter exchange! I really enjoyed the Valentine one, but it's too soon for me to do another.
Jackie I think so too. A state swap would be things from your state, but if you live in a very country area its hard to get to stores that sell things like magnets, pot holders, etc,,, from your state. "flat things that would mail well would be book marks, stationary, stickers etc.....
ooooooooo.....a state swap would be SO FUN!! right now i can get all kind of MARDI GRAS (its tommorrow actually!!) stuff right now!!! i may pick some stuff up (at all the parades!!) and set it aside in case we do this....louisiana is known for mardi gras and most stores sell mardi gras stuff year round (the people here find any excuse to party so ......hehhee!) Blessings Shawna
I love the idea of a state swap. An idea of something to do would be for kids to make a brochure type thing about their state. It would fit nicely in an envelope. Of course bookmarks, postcards etc are also great ideas. My kiddo's would love to do this!
I love the state swap idea too. I wish I would have gotten in on the Valentine's Day swap but I'll surely be in on the next one. I have some great ideas from Texas! I am going to our state's independence day celebration in two weeks and I am going to pick up some extra things while there - just in case.
