I've been using Growing with Grammar with my 8 year old son. It's OK, short and easy lessons that get the job done, but he seems to just fill in the blanks without much real retention or interest. Yesterday he was supposed to turn the words into possessive nouns and for several of them he just copied the word, forgetting that he was supposed to add 's. I know it's pretty hard to make grammar exciting, but I've been looking at some other options and came across the Cozy Grammar DVDs. I think that he might like that it's visual and auditory and uses everyday examples and enough repetition to get the point across. Would this be enough grammar for a second or third grader or would I need to supplement? Has anyone used it with success?
