Yeah ok, so I read the book.. first I had to hunt for the "directions" for the first thing that came up.. it was like lesson 11? The lesson still didn't have directions, just said that you could cut up pictures for the kids to use as puzzles, but that kids usually start with framed puzzles..blah blah blah.

Meg, the puzzle is just that a puzzle to be put together (after you take your creative licence to cutting it up).

I still haven't heard back from them.

Putting a puzzle together is considered a math skill at that age. Like sorting and ordering with any manipulatives.....

Just wanted to take a second before we start loading up the truck to leave in the morning, I still have not heard anything back from the email I sent to whoever at THOTC. Kind of irritates me, but at the same time I guess I have done much more work and figuring things out over other free things we have used over the years.

It has e-books you are supposed to print for each grade for the parent/teacher. I am assuming this is where the directions are for the worksheets.
Oops. Went back and see that you have found this out already. I am going to try this with my kids for supplemental school next year. It says it will have a 4th and 5th grade out in the fall. My pre-k and upcoming 2nd grader will work on it for now.
I am going to put the e-books on to a flash drive and see how much it costs to get them printed and bound at the office store. I have 2 apologia notebooks to do as well and will let everyone know how much the e-books will cost to have printed and bound if they are interested.

haha-I'm a little slow...but get this-cuz I have not downloaded the e book....in the parent's section-there is a column on the left with what recent activity has been and towards the bottom what is "upcoming" for your kid(s)...if you run your mouse over it-it will hsow you a picture of what it is..and a brief description (sight word of the week, puzzle of the week...which happened to have a full color pic of happy and max...der....etc.)

I don't think you really need the ebooks-if you just kinda search around the parents part. I also figured out how to not printout everything (like my older son's reading page-I had him read it outloud then close it, then he just closed the window and it took him back to the main screen for the next exercise....

also the pages can be saved as adobe pdf's if you want to have extra copies (like me.)

Lastly-my daughter's (K) matching (math) projects can be done on the computer with the mouse as well, so I don't print these out either. Then when she's done I just go in and say she completed the worksheet. I'm saving alot by not printing out every single thing....

Does it keep track of everyday they're on, or does it stop after a time -I'm paranoid-I need the dates and activites for my folder, but it seems to be keeping track fine....
