If you use you bank card or paypal account online. Please check for a $39.95 charge from a company called Cardve.com. Someone signed up for an account using DH's paypal account and personal bank card. We have never even heard of them and would never sign up for this type of account. They had all his information, name, phone and card number for both cards, but the email address was wrong. When I call the company, I heard 3 other conversations in the back from people asking for refunds as well. Just a heads up. They were nice about refunding but still.

Just a thought, you should have your computer checked for a keylogging program, sort of like a virus, where someone is able to "log" everything that you key in, passwords, personal info ect. I think most virus software will catch it. You could also google, "How to get rid of a keylogging progam"

Norton did catch a virus like that last month. So maybe that is how they got it. I am pretty sure it was a virus now because DH is the only one who uses his card online. I am in the process of changing all our passwords and canceling his cards now. Thanks

Last year we had a similar problem. I ordered some curriculum and the company received payment via PayPal. BUT! We do not have an account. So after some searching, I found out that somebody started a PayPal account using our bank account. We never noticed because our balance was fine and we sometimes had MORE money than we thought. Now we know why. We always go through our bank statements but only the ATM purchases. So now we go through them with a fine toothed comb.

It's really scary. I called the company yesterday to get something in writing. I asked the rep what there business was and she said it was a barging club. Everything is purchased at a discount using the card you used to sign up. We never keep money in paypal. But I sold some curriculum for a large chunk of money and the woman wanted to do paypal. Before I could pull it out $39.95 of it was missing. Once I get the money back I am just going to close paypal, because we don’t use it.

The hackers only had DH’s accounts. This is because he is oblivious to computer dangers. He just clicks on anything. Now he know about all this and then he goes and uses online bill pay yesterday to pay a bill. WHY! Twice he crashed the whole computer. Luckily I know about computers and I was able to get it up and running again with minimal data loss. I told him last month that this would happen one day if he didn’t stop saying “ooh a free whatever “and clicking.

Handsome pretty much clicks on anything too. LOL

Once we closed out our bank account, we ended up with a decent chunk of money. The bank told us we could keep it because legally it was in our name and she was positive that nobody would complain for fear of being caught.
