Does anyone have any ideas for me on this one? I need something that would be appropriate for a 1st grader. My son is very interested in eating right, and he is always asking me, "Mom, what is in this food that is good for me?" "Is this healthy?" So I thought that it would be a good thing to foster this interest. And so here I am, begging for any info you smart ladies (and gents!) may have!
I don't know on workbooks, but here are a few links if you are interested: http://kidshealth.org/kid/stay_healthy/index.html http://www.fns.usda.gov/tn/kids-pyramid.html (this one is particularly good) The human body: http://www.superteacherworksheets.com/human-body.html
Steck Vaughn has a good health book...Health, Nutrition and P.E. http://www.amazon.com/Health-Nutrition-P-Grades/dp/1419023578
Abeka Health, Safety & Manners Reader 1... its not a workbook but it has some activity ideas, and you can probly find free health worksheets online to go along with it. Amazon has the Abeka book.. not sure how much it is right now tho
It's not a curriculum, but I'd suggest getting Mollie Katzen's Honest Pretzels. It's a cookbook written for children, broken into simple steps, but with recipes that you might actually want to eat.
