    I've taken a step toward improving my mental health this winter, hopefully it doesn't have the opposite effect. I've started (trying to start?) a local mommies' group. Started yesterday by making a group on Facebook, now making a more accessible group on bigtent.com (free group hosting) plus need to create logo and flyers and stuff. eeeek!

    this town has NOTHING to do for people who aren't paying for activities--in the winter when you can't go to the playground. no indoor mcdonald's playplace, no city community center (well, it exists, but they don't allow use by anyone, just a waste of space), can't use the FREE community rooms at the library for anything "social." and the librarians don't understand the benefits of playdates as more than something social.

    there's MOPS, but it's a $$/Christian thing, and I want this to be inclusive for everyone, and FREE.

    And I want it to have an awesome web presence because Nothing In this town has a decent web presence.

    Amy--AWESOME! Tell him we are proud of him too!

    Peggy--Wow, I hope this site works for you! I also hope you find things to do, places to go, people to see!

    MT3--Hope you're not going TOO crazy! Take care of yourself!

    Well, my tummy, which I used to not have, is DEFINITELY making it's presence known! :( I have just GOT to get going on something to get rid of it! I got out my Jillian Michael's "30-day Shred" dvd, that I keep starting and stopping. I'd like to start it and make it all the way through 30 days, at least!

    My ds15 is at his school now, we took him Sunday of this week. I miss him! DS18 will head out next month. We started dd homeschooling on Monday. It's gone well so far. She's in 7th grade, so her math, especially is taking longer. She's doing CLE Math 8 four days a week, and LoF Beginning Algebra two days a week. CLE is for making sure she understands and remembers things and the structure. LoF she loves, so it will be a different, and probably more fun, way to learn the concepts. I am working right with her as much as possible. Yesterday we were doing problems where we isolated the variable to get the answer. I thought it was fun! :) Here's one of the problems we did:

    5(6)=7(x+3)-15+3

    The one I wanted to show you was with a power, so I couldn't type it out here. But anyway, she caught on and was saying, "Let's do more!" Oh yeah! :D That was CLE math. Today she does her 2nd LoF day for the week. In a couple of lessons in CLE she'll be doing Area and volume. I stink at that stuff, so I think dh will have to help her with that!

    Happy weekend to all of you!

    Problems like that ARE fun! I am not really a math girl but I like algebra like that.

    What is CLE?

    Yes, I am the same way! :)

    CLE=Christian Light Education http://www.clp.org/christian_light_education

    I just found a GREAT looking way to work on reducing my tummy, hips and rear end size in the October Prevention Magazine (Huh? It's not even September yet?)! Wow, it looks great! Wonder if I could even get all the way through it (it's 60 minutes), and keep up the 3 times a week for 6 weeks? I REALLY need to see some results!

    Anyone else get or look at Prevention magazine? I'd like to find someone to do this with, but I don't know anyone around here. Anyone on here wanna try it?
