I've always been fascinated by the potential benefits my children would receive by homeschooling. A few months back my wife mentioned that we might want to consider doing this with our 13 year old. We live in a district where the high school is not a place I want my son to go under any circumstances. I'm not calling it a bad school but I have a great fear that he could easily fall in with the wrong kids or get lost in the system as it's an extremely large school. My wife is currently a stay at home mom and she's willing to take on the role. We've discussed it with him and he's mulling it for a few weeks. I'm going to have a lot of questions and I hope I can also bring some answers that other members may have. My wife may make an account or she may use mine. Pleased to meet all of you Barry
Hello Barry, I am Beth in NC. We have seven children through birth and adoption. We now have four left at home and are homeschooling the two youngest who are both girls. One is 13 in 8th grade and the other is 8 and in 3rd grade. We just started this school year and love it. I feel like they are so much safer and they are making so much progress. I am more than happy we made this change. Welcome, Beth
Hi Beth I have 4 kids 'Squid' 13 yo M 'Fidget' 10 yo F 'Shiva' 6 yo M 'Badger' 4 yo M And, of course, the lovely and talented Mrs. Dichotomy AKA 'She Devil'. Nice to meet you
Hi Barry! Welcome to the board! I have three kids: "Pivi" (9) "My Bear" (7) "Rooie" (20 months) Looks like we all have nicknames for our kids!
The nickname "Critters" came from how I carried my babies with me all the time and never put them down. Think: Ellie May from The Beverly Hillbillies... She always had her "Critters" in her hands. hahaha!
LOL.... that's hysterical <S> oh... when I do the whole <S> thing that comes from another community I'm on and it's habit it means "Salute" or "I salute you(r) post, thought, etc.."
Welcome, Barry! I'm Jackie. I'm one of those who knew I wanted to homeschool before the kids even came! Rachael is 12, Faythe is 10, and my Big Man, Phillip, is 7.

Hi Mr. and Mrs. Dichotomy! I homeschool my 3: ds15, ds13 and dd9. My dh helps in the math and science areas at times for the older two. This is a great place! Ask away, we'll be happpy to answer what we can! The nice thing is, there are people from all walks of life, so you get many different answers, which helps you see things from many different perspectives! We love it here, hope you do too!
Hello and welcome! I am Patty and homeschool my youngest daughter, Emma. We decided to homeschool after seeing the education our daughters received at the public schools. This is one of the reasons, I should say. We have been schooling Ems since she started school and I wouldn't send her to public school unless I was on Death's doorstep. Patty
