    Hello,
I've been hs'ing for 17 yrs., we have 6 dc, eldest is married...youngest is age 2. Currently, I'm hs'ing only one of them (6 yr. old). A combination of homeschool burnout & 2 yr. old in the house caused me to put some of them in school (4 months now). We'd never had any in the Elem. public school before, but had heard stories over the years about what to expect - and although this school is extremely small & I thought it would be different here...the same issues are present, nonetheless! We were a little shocked. I don't think we're going to repeat the experiment next year. :)

Has anyone else been down that road?

    Hi Cindi, WELCOME!

My oldest was in a Christian School for Kindergarten and 1st grade be fore we were led to homeschool. My other two have always been homeschooled. My oldest had enough problems so that we decided to homeschool, and now I wouldn't want it any other way!

My three are ds15, ds13 and dd9, and we've been homeschooling over 9 years. You've homeschooled almost twice as long as I have, so I can understand the burn-out! I'm hoping that if my children connot homeschool their children, that I would be able to homeschool my grandchildren! But that's a long way off! I probably wouldn't mind a break in between homeschooling my children and homeschooling my grandchildren! :)

Anyway, hope you stick around, it's great to have you here!

Oh, yes... way too far down that road. Our school district only has approximately 1100 kids between Pre-Kindergarten and 12th grade, less than 100 per grade within our entire district.

We had one child in Christian school for 7 months before we brought him back into (I say back because he did attend pre-k here) PS. We just pulled bothe kids out Mid December.

If I can help it, they will never return to either PS or Private school.

Hi Cindi and welcome to Hs spot. This is a wonderful spot to come and find help from some really super ladies.
My name is Kris I have been hs for 5 years now. Both of my dd's whom are 14 and 11 went to ps for awhile and with my dh job and us traveling all over in our RV it was best to hs. I am glad we made the choice. Wouldn't have it anyother way.

Hi, Cindi! I'm Jackie, from central Ohio. We're in Year 8 here with my three, dd12, dd10, and ds7.

Where in Alaska are you? I spent a summer working with a church in Cordova, on the Prince William Sound. it was the summer before the Exxon Valdez spill. I'd move there tomorrow, if it weren't that my DH wouldn't come with me. He's not to thrilled about the summertime high only being in the lower to mid 70's, lol!

Hi Cindi! We've been homeschooling since our oldest (now 22) was in Kindergarten with short intervals of public school & a Christian school interspersed. Our youngest are now in high school at home, & it's the best!
