Hi! I have one 7yr old son that we started homeschooling this year. We're in our 3rd week and doing okay while we still figure stuff out. We decided to leave public school last year because our ds was falling a little behind and the teacher wanted to have him evaluated so we could take it all to our doctor and have him medicated. Yes, he does have some ADD tendancies that he comes by naturally, but he needs to learn to deal with them, not be 'doped up' to fit their mold. So far homeschooling has been far less stressful than dealing with the school and hours of homework. I'm so happy we decided to hs and really hope we can do this through graduation! I already have some questions and I'm sure I'll have more. I'm just excited to be here! Jenny
Welcome! You will like it here Ask any questions you have because someone on here will have an answer for you!
Welcome!! We had the same issues early on in public school. You will be happy to know that after less than a year homeschooling, ds (son's) doctor reversed his diagnosis because he didn't really have ADHD. He just couldn't function in that environment. He is now 14 and a very mature, responsible, focused young man. Again, welcome!!!
Hi and welcome. I agree with Brooke it likely will change with maturity. My son was the same. And has improved greatly since I pulled him from PS last November.
Welcome to the spot! I am a yooper but have been living in Alaska for the past year and a half. I'm glad that you found us.
