I got my "good one" (sold new for about $50) at the Salvation Army for $2. I just picked up a Leap Frog Explorer at a yardsale for a buck. If you wait till they start back to school sales, sometimes Walmart will have them for $20, but really I would just keep your eyes open for one at a yard sale or a thrift store or craigslist. Your kids are young yet, I wouldn't stress too much about getting one right away.. my kids just think they are toys to spin
I bought an inflatable beach ball type one on eBay for about $10. Mackenzie loves it. It's easier for younger kids to use!
Oh, great idea on the beach ball, Marcia Sommer, they are still little, huh? Jake (4) has been asking tons of questions about what is where and all about different countries. It's really hard to explain that to a 4 year old without a globe, lol
I got mine at Kmart a few years back. My little guy has really learned a lot from seeing and using it along with maps.
I got one at WalMart a few years ago, I think it was $12. The library gave us one for free that was donated to them but they didn't really want it - it's huge and has a smoky-plexiglass stand, and it lights up if you plug it in.... Right now my Dollar General Store has a plastic playball for I think maybe $2, about the size of a soccerball, but it looks like a globe and has the continents and oceans labeled.
wonder if there is a virtual globe online somewhere? We just used maps until I scored our globe last year. You can find lots of them to print. Hope that helps some more.
I found one at Salvation Army for $2.00. Once its life ended, I bought a new globe at WalMart for $14.00.
I agree with dollar stores too if you want a really cheap smaller sized one for that age... it will give him the idea and then as they get older go up to the higher priced ones,
Watch at Walmart. You can get them for around $20 at the beginning of the school year. I needed a globe and couldn't find one and spent $40 on one. Then at the back to school sales at Walmart that fall I saw them for $20.
