This is the way I make our bed. 1. Jump in at night. 2 kick the sheet around with my legs till it's over me  (dh dosn't want it, it's summer here)
We went to a motel once and when we pulled the covers back there was a large blood stain. The sheets hadn't been washed. I called the front desk and they sent up someone to change the sheets. The sheets they brought were not clean either they smelled like smoke. I wouldn't let them change the sheets. I called the front desk again and talked to a manager and she came up with a fresh set of sheets. We got that night free. I hate to stay in a motel. I always take a king size sheet with me to put on top of the bed because I refuse to touch the bed spread (which I remove). I also bring a can of Raid and a can of Lysol. I now completely unmake the bed and remake it with my own sheets. I spray the bath, the toilet, and the beds down until they are wet with Lysol (before making them). Motels always leave your clothes with that smell. Even if you don't wear them, you have to wash them just to get rid of that smell. I make my bed everyday I hate getting into an unmade bed. I try to get the house work done before dh gets home, and have supper by 5:30. As far as school goes I usually play that by ear. If they are getting into what they are doing then we go until they want to stop. If they are having trouble with things then we stop for a while then start back. Today my ds took his lunch down to his tree-house. I came down and made him a pallet and he read his book. That was fun, I just hate to climb up and down those steps. This gave my dd time to work on her speech without any interruptions. That's what is so great about homeschooling, you can change your classroom to the tree-house.
I make my bed every day.............right before we get in it. the kids come in, jump on the bed when they think I'm not looking or sneak in there to watch cartoons and the comforter always seams to slip down. we recently put a duvet cover over our warn out comforter, its the best thing ever. You can wash it and its easier to get in the washing machine than the comforter.
I have a flannel duvet cover. The only problem I have with it is that the comforter tends to slip down a little at the top, so I often have about an inch or two of "empty" cover at the top. My cover has a slit on each side at the top. I hold onto the comforter and try to "shake" the cover down sort-of. In the winter, I have my flannel sheets, and my comforter with its flannel cover, and I couldn't be warmer!
It's kind of like a slip cover for a comforter. They are cheaper because your not buying a whole comforter or quilt, just the top cover. So it's like getting a new comforter or quilt for 1/4 of the price...like when you buy slip covers for a chair or sofa, you're not buying a whole new chair, just a cover to make it look new.
