Here's the link to the thread where you saw that: http://www.homeschoolspot.com/showthread.php?t=6541 Click her name and send her a private message. She only has 3 posts, so she's also new here. Welcome to the board, and I hope this helps!
This past year was our first- half the year since we pulled dd in Dec. The first couple of months were not much fun lol. But once we found a happy groove, and I relaxed a lot we had a ton of fun. She'll be starting 1st grade here in a couple weeks- we're starting first week of July partially at her request and partially because it's too hot to do anything else here in July and August. I'm not changing much other then she won't have as much freedom since we do have to test at the end of the year and I don't want to miss anything. But we will be having a lot of fun with history and science. I'm thinking I'll probably be ordering a new science curriculum in December since we'll be done with what we have now. We'll be doing a lot of hands on stuff, art class and PE outside of the house, the usual playdays with friends. This year will be a lot more organized since I had half a year to figure out what worked and what didn't lol.
A blast I have to say that our first year was a blast - but it was with my oldest who was 3 at the time! My kids have never been to school so we never went through the whole transition thing. And while I can't say that each entire year since has been a blast, on the whole, the homeschool experience itself has been. As a result of homeschool, I have been privy to some of the most memorable and life-changing events one can have. To me, that is the biggest blast I can have.
Last year was our first year and it was so much fun! Lots of planning work for me to make it go as smooth as it did but wow was it worth it. I wish Samantha had never been in ps.
