I've heard of it happening in other countries, but I just became aware that 14,500 to 17,500 are brought in and enslaved here in the U.S every year: "Anywhere from 14,500 to 17,500 people are brought into the country for forced labor or s-x every year, primarily from East Asia, Mexico and Central America, according to estimates in a 2006 State Department report." The child slavery issue had been mentioned on another thread a while back, about a girl who slaved for a family and was rescued. Thanks for bringing this to our attention, Singing.
