Hi! My name is Stacey, and I'm a stay at home mom currently. My husband Keith works in the grain industry and we make our home in southern Manitoba, Canada.

I have three children. Rowan is 5, and currently enrolled in Kindergarten in public school. Bria is 3 and hangs out with me at home. Emery will be 1 on Saturday, and she prefers to spend all of her time with me too :)

I have a huge desire to home school my children, but my husband does not feel the same way. While I pray and wait for direction, I thought I would connect with some other parents and prepare myself, in case I do get to teach my children at home someday :)

Welcome :) As an Ontarian I keep looking to your province for better gov't, cheaper homes, etc..and homeschooling of course. What are the requirements there? I have loved homeschooling this past year and wouldn't want to go back to the PS system unless I had to. Good luck with whatever you take on.

Hey big sis! Good to see you here:)

Northernmama - from what I've read Manitoba looks pretty easy.

"What are homeschooling parents required to do?
Each year, parents are required to submit a Notification Form and two Progress Reports: one by the end of January and one by the end of June). These forms are included in the Notification Packages that are sent to all home schooling parents." - from the government of Manitoba website

    Welcome!
My husband wasn't on board at first either. Due to some changes at the school my kids attended, I finally got him to agree to let me bring them home and "finish the year" ~ nothing more. That was Nov. 2004 when my kids were in 2nd and K. Now he's a raving fan. Just keep praying!

Hi Stacey! Welcome to the forum!

Why don't you try printing some great information that you think would convince your husband to home school your children.

    Good luck!

When we have so much to do we tend to forget that we need sometimes look here but that's quite alright.
