    Hi Abby. Welcome.

We've just started our 8th year of homeschooling. We moved last spring, but before that, we lived in Texas for 7 years. Texas is a great place to homeschool.

You might want to start looking around for a homeschool group -- at the very least, it would give you the chance to connect (in person) with other homeschooling parents. Sometimes it can be tough to find them. The first place we lived in TX, there were so many groups. The second place I really had to dig to find the group even existed, and then it took a while to make contact. I have another friend in Texas who drives an hour each way for her group -- it's a commitment, but their family gets a lot out of it.

Not that I'm putting down the Spot. This is a great place to connect with other homeschooling parents without getting in your car, and I love how you can hear from a really wide variety of experiences when you ask questions. It's just different than meeting with people offline.
