Hi, I'm new to this forum and to homeschooling

    Thank you for all the info.
    I am very dissapointed in our public library here in town, they are so limited.
    They have absolutely nothing for homeschoolers.
    No reading incentive programs etc. like some of the bigger libraries have.
    I have checked with some of the libraries in neighboring towns and it seems they are all like that around here. You have to go to the bigger cities to find any good programs at any of the libraries. The closest would be humble and thats 1 hour drive away. The other closest one would be lufkin and that is 1 hour away in the opposite direction.

    The only thing our library does have is a summer reading program that gives little toys and free food coupons for some of the local fast food places when they read a certain # of books.

    Welcome to the wonderful world of homeschooling! I have such a heart for new homeschoolers.
    I have to agree with the moms that suggested the local library!
    Keep things simple and have fun exploring with your kids.
    I love teaching my 5 boys:)
