Hi! I am new. I would like to know if there are any homeschooling mommies (or daddies from Eastern Europe here
Not sure if there are any from Europe, but your welcome just the same. I'm from Ohio and wanted to welcome you and to jump in anytime with your questions and/or suggestions. Enjoy!!!
I believe Anne is living somewhere over there, but not sure where. What country do you homeschool in, if you don't mind saying? I'm Jackie, also from Ohio.
Welcome sure glad you found us my name is Kris I am from MN right now just a few more days then on my way to Texas in USA.. I hope you enjoy the board as much as I do... jump right in anytime. The only one I know from Eurpoe is Anne, like Jackie said.
Oh, by the way, I am in Ukraine. My kids are not official school age yet (1 and 3), but I don't give them to kindergarten, as most people do here, and I am not planning to give them to school either.
I don't remember where Anne lives exactly, and I'm not sure she makes it well known. She's not on as much as she use to be! I thought I actually knew someone in the Ukraine, but when I think about it, he is in western Russia instead. He's an American missionary, and is married to a Russian woman.
Just wanted to send another welcome! I have family in Austria, Germany, and Holland. They always tell me that homeschooling is nearly impossible in most of Europe. I hope that is not your case and encourage you to do the best for your children. You will always find support here!
Oh yeah, I think most countries don't even have official home school education, but those who want still find their way around My kids are not school aged, but I have a few friends who homeschool their children despite the law. They just find umbrella school, or certain favorable individuals (directors of school) and things like that. I pray that when my daughter will be 6-7 we would be able to start doing "School of tomorrow" or A Beka or CLA, and it would be recognized by our country's government.
You have my prayers as well! I sometimes forget how blessed we are with the freedom to homeschool. Hopefully, I will never take it for granted.
