My name is Lisa (obviously :D). I've lurked around for a few days and thought I should come in and introduce my self.

I've been married to my wonderful husband for almost 10 years. We have 3 active, inquisitive little boys (5, 3, and 1) and they keep me on my toes!

This is my first year homeschooling. We are just finishing up our third week and so far it has gone great.

I look forward to getting to know everyone. This looks like a great site.

    Lisa

Hi Lisa, WELCOME! Kids grow up so fast! Seems like my oldest was just 5 and now he's 15 and a junior in Highschool! Amazing! That's one of the reasons I love homeschooling--I get be with my children a lot more than if I sent them away to school!

Anyway, as Kris said, this is a great place, glad you made it here! This is our 9th year of homeschooling. I have 3 beautiful children: 9-yo dd, almost 13-yo (next month) ds, and 15-yo ds. Kris has me beat in the length of time married. I've been married 18 1/2 years, and dh and I are still sometimes confused as newlyweds! :)

    Welcome Lisa!

My name is Patty and I am a homeschool mommy to my 8year old daughter, Emma. As of January 25, my husband and I will be going on our 10th year of marriage. We were not planning on having any children but when we found out that Little Miss. Em's was on her way, we automatically knew we wanted to homeschool. I did not like the public system back when my daughter, now 20, was in it and I do not care for it now. I believe our older daughter was in 5th grade when we were married and I remember her coming home from school and sharing with us all these stories that I could not believe went on in the school and the things that teachers taught. OH!!!
Anyways, welcome and hope you enjoy it here. Homeschooling has been a very special part of my life and this site really makes it that much more enjoyable.
    God bless!!!
    Patty

My husband and I have been married 9 years. We met while we were both living and working in Slovenia. (He's from Macedonia). Looking forward to getting to know all of you!

Thanks everyone, I'm really glad I found this site. I think it's awsome how many people homeschool their children. When I first started thinking of homeschooling my boys, I had no idea there were so many other homeschoolers. I went to my first convention a few months ago, that was really cool. Anyway, it's nice to be part of such a large community.

Wow Kathy, How'd you end up with TWO sets of twins? That's awesome! :) Must be kind of hard though? Welcome to the site, I'm glad you're here!

The twins happened naturally, Deena. The doc said after the first set that there's a good chance I'd have them again (I guess because they're fraternal) and lo and behold that's just what happened. He then said there's an even better chance of it repeating! But, I did get pregnant again last November and it was only one baby. Sadly, I lost it in March due to Trisomy 18. It does get tough sometimes because they go through the behavioral stages at the same time. . .and I've learned that boy energy is different from girl energy!! But having built-in playmates has been great!

Kathy, My twins were a total surprise. One was born and the doctor said it was a girl and I said "good that is what we had hoped for" and then he said the words I will never forget; "what's the other one?" I said, "what do you mean the other one?" and that is when he told me I was having twins. I said, "why didn't you tell me?" and he admitted he hadn't known until one was born. My girls are now 29 and married. It was so much fun watching them grow up, but it was a lot of work. We have friends with two sets like you and her doctor said if she had another it would almost certainly be twins again. She said,"no way!" Welcome to you and to you too Lisa.
