    Hi there!
I am interested if there is anybody who is into home decor here. I like doing crafts, cross stitch, useful or just cute items for the home, little souvenirs for my friends. Right now I got interested in making greeting cards out of napkins, laces and stuff like that. Do you know any helpful sites @ this, or maybe you yourself have any ideas? I would love to hear form you girls!

I use to do cross-stitch, and try to do quilting, though with homeschooling I don't really have the time anymore!

    I love crafts!:D
I do a lot of different types. I used to cross stitch but it isn't my thing. However I love tatting.

Yes, tatting is lace making. It used to be popular in the Victorian era. Ladies and young girls were judged by how well and graceful they tatted. Some say that tatting has become a lost art. It isn't done very much because it could be complicated.
What is funny is, I taught myself by reading books but I can't learn to knit no matter how hard I try. My biggest problem with knitting is getting started.:D
I purchased a few booklets on how to knit because I really want to learn. Emma bought a book at Barnes and Noble. It has many patterns for making dog sweaters. I want to learn so I can show her how to do it but I am having little luck.:|

No. Thanks for mentioning it. I'm thinking that I could probably get it at Barnes and Noble.
The booklets I have are basically for right handed people. They provide a small section to instruct left handed people but it isn't enough.
    Thanks again!

My dd and I make jewerly. I am going to put some of it in my ebay store. I also enjoy painting furniture. I bought a whole bunch of wallpaper boarder when it was on sale for $1 at Meijer. I am going to use it on some shelf projects...when I get the time. I have more projects to start than those that are done.

hey...maybe we should post some pics of our little accomplishments!

We make beaded jewerly. We found a ton of shells that someone was throwing away and incorporated that in our jewerly.

Yes, you can post pics. If you go advanced and know the URL to your pics it will work. You can also use something like photobucket and just provide the link to your pics. I know I would love to see what everyone does!

I think it would be neat to post pictures of our hobbies or crafts!
I need to look for some because they are in the picture box.
My biggest accomplishment was an old hutch my friend gave me. I stripped the paint, hoping to leave it natural, but it ended up having thick layers of green, blue, and yellow. Most came off but in a few spots it was deep in the wood. I didn't want to take it to a professional so I painted over it. It is now white but still has it's old fashion feel. I also made some new shelves for the inside because the original were falling apart so bad that when I removed them, one broke in half and parts of the wood was like dust.
I was so excited because once I removed the paint on the doors, a lock was exposed and on the top glass doors, there is a latch that didn't work because it was stuck with old paint. Now it works!:D
I will look for the pictures.

Patty, I need you here! My MIL gave me a Duncan Fyffe table, really nice. I started stripping it down about four years ago. Problem was, it was originally a cherry finish, but it had been painted green (!!!) and had a cream color on top of that! It was TERRIBLE to strip! I recently gave it to my dad to finish for me!
