My kids have expressed an interest in high school level biology. My background is as a math and physics teacher--the life sciences are definitely NOT my field. I normally put together our curriculum, but I'm afraid I'd miss something or short-change the kids on this topic. So, does anyone have any suggestions what to use as a year-long high school biology course? It can be online or not, textbook or computer-based...all advice welcome! Thanks in advance!
You might check out the biology from www.hippocampus.org. It has a syllabus, video lectures, etc. to go along with several major textbooks. It is free and quite thorough. Here are some virtual biology labs to go along with the hands on stuff you do: http://www.ucopenaccess.org/courses/CPBioLabs/gen_course/index.html
