    Hi!

I am coming up with an idea for a high school co-op class for drama and Lit. Class size is about a dozen. I have several ideas, but thought I would come here to see what you all would suggest. We have one hour of class time per week, but assignments will be sent home as well.

I'm looking for drama/theatre ideas, plus any Literature (scenes, plays, short-stories, Shakespeare, etc) that you think would be applicable. Any sites that would help with character development, voice and movement, sets, direction, theatre history, etc would be great!

    Thanks in advance,
    MT3

I really enjoyed Macbeth when we read through it in high school.

Our coop has a drama class. Usually the fall semester is spent studying styles of acting and doing acting exercises, auditions for the play. Spring semester is spent practicing the play and preparing props, etc. Even the stage crew takes the class.

One year the class participants wrote their own plays/skits….they were given a topic, broken up into groups of 3 or 4, and they were responsible for the whole thing - even props, etc. Some of them were HILARIOUS! The kids had a GREAT time and learned a lot about Drama. :)

    HTH.
