It is now official I guess. I paid Emily's tuition for her first year of high school today. She starts back Aug. 26th. She chose to go to the public high school that is part of the public middle school she went to for 7th and 8th grade. So I guess homeschool is really over for our house. I miss it and wish she had wanted to stay home, but she asked to go back two years ago and we had always promised she could if she ever wanted to. I had five very cool years home with her (and our daughter who is now 20) and had thought it would be all the way through once we started, but I am okay about it now. If you would please keep her school in your prayers I would really appreciate it. When I drop her off each morning I pray for all who enter the building that day. For peace and learning and for the safe return home of each student and teacher at the end of each day.
What a great mom you are to willing to meet your daughter's needs and wants even though it isn't your first choice. Praying for you both as you take this step into high school.
She goes out of district because the school is only about three minutes from our home. The school she is supposed to go to is much bigger, out in the middle of the country and about 15 minutes from us down some very curvy roads. Lots of accidents since they built the school back in the late 1960s. Several students killed during those years and at least one teacher. I just did not want to deal with that drive again. (5 of ours went there) We pay $300. a year since we not only live out of district but out of the county too. It is $200 if you live in the county the school is in. It is a city school but that sounds so funny since it is actually a small town not a city! Our home sits right above the river that divides our county from the next one where the school is so it is so much easier for her to go there.
