Hi all -- I'm looking for recommendations for a high school world geography course. Any input? Thanks!
http://www.knowledgequestmaps.com/Globalmania.html I like this one and plan to use it with my 8th grader!
I suggest Trail Guide to World Geography....but I see that TeacherMom beat me to it by like 6 hours and 1 minute.
Maybe not what you're looking for, but I did build a semester-long online course, initially designed to meet the 'Citizenship of the World' merit badge for boy scouts and then expanded a bit. Students learn about every country in the world (quiz on flags, foods, costume, etc.), different constitutions, biggest exporters of various products, how countries are represented overseas, how they interact, global organizations such as the UN, the Red Cross, and so on. If you're interested, I could make the course available for you to teach. Since there are some team projects, though, there would need to be at least four students in the class. (No textbook is needed; all material can be accessed online.)
Around the World in 180 Days (this is in notebooking style) Lifepacs and CLE have half-courses on it (the other half is civics) ACE has one Abeka has one
