    Hi all,

I am wanting to make a timeline to put up in our schoolroom. If you have a timeline, would you mind sharing photos and how you do yours? I'm looking for ideas.

    Thank you!

I attached two pic (we will see if this works, haha!) One is a close up and one is further away. We did western civ last year, and we used the story of the world timeline cards in the back of the activity book to mark the big events along the way. This timeline shows from beginning of time up to ancient greeks, I think.
This large timeline is in addition to the smaller timelines we do in our notebooks - those are more detailed, and the kids add pics and info to the timeline sheets. I will find one and scan it in to show what those look like too, if you want.

I did ours in 3 ring binders. It took us a full year to do just American history. This year we are breaking it down further and doing historical person(s) timelines and great cities of America. I will use the 3 ring binders again this year also.

Here is a link for you that I have used:

    http://www.donnayoung.org/history/timeline.htm

I used the template TL-2 & 3 for our binders. Some were done in 10 years increments ( because so much was happening in a 10 year span) and some were done in 25 & 50 year spans ( per page).
We also glued clip art on some of the pages ( just for fun).

Ok, the attachement didn't seem to work. How do you show pics? Anyone?

Try this: http://donnayoung.org/history/index.htm This site has some forms for timelines, also an example of a timeline book (with directions). When Rachael gets home, I'll ask her get a picture of ours.
