Hubby uses lots of witch hazel. He also started taking fish oil recently. (Dr 'put' him on it -- I think I love his new Dr LOL) I don't think I mentioned we also eat lots of flax. Good for many things...started eating it for hubbys diabetes. Honestly..diet is one of the best meds . We've really started cutting out more & more processed foods, little by little and were all feeling better & better. There are a few things we've yet to let go of but we're making progress.
Diaper rash, which may be a type of yeast infection, can be accompanied by fever although there are instances where the affected infant may not manifest this clinical symptom. However, if the yeast infection systemic, the condition will most definitely include chills and fevers. It is important that you consult with your pediatrician before you start with the treatment of yeast infection.
It is my understanding that while fevers are the bodies way of fighting infection or other illness, fevers can be dangerous if they are too high for too long. Scarlet Fever is one of the illnesses where a fever can kill, cause blindness, hearing loss, or other nerve damage because the fever gets high and it lasts a long time. Due to fever reducers and antibiotics, Scarlet Fever does not cause as much permanent damage as it did in the old days. Still, usually fevers are not dangerous and I think should be able to run their course naturally, unless it is caused by Scarlet Fever or something similar.
Well fevers are bad in that if you have one it means you have an infection somewhere. It means you could be contagious as well. But I agree with Patty, most fevers aren't dangerous and we should let them work their magic
Ok, ladies. Here's the delimma. My 6 yr old has had diarrhea for about 4 days, not terrible, just about twice a day. Her appetite is also a bit lacking. I recently started working and she has been with my mom alot. There is also a tummy bug/cold bug going around here lately. My question is, how long do I wait before I get really worried about her, what can I do to help her gain back her appetite? (She usually goes through cycles of nibbling here and there followed by a period of a eating quite a bit. It wasn't long ago she was eating a lot more, maybe her appetite is in a lull period for now?)
