    Historical site offers homeschoolers' event

    FOUNTAIN CITY, Ind. -- The Levi Coffin House State Historic Site is planning a special event for home school students in grades 4 to 12. The event, "Finding Clues to the Hidden Past," will be 10 a.m. to noon Oct. 2 at the Coffin House, 113 U.S. 27 N. in Fountain City. It will include a tour of the house, the story of how Levi and Catharine Coffin aided escaping slaves and information about how a researcher uncovered hidden secrets of the Underground Railroad without using the Internet. The activity will meet select Indiana Academic Standards. Reservations are requested and the cost is $2 each for age 6 and older.
