Okayyy so I was chosen to take over the preschool class at our homeschool group every week. The previous PreK teacher was a good one and I am nervous about filling her shoes. She did a letter of the week type where she did crafts & coloring sheets having to do the letter. She covered numbers & colors also.

Here are my thoughts: I have pretty much free reign on what I want to teach/do in the class. I am thinking since we are all homeschool moms, we are probably covering ABCs, numbers, & colors already at home. To me, being a part of a homeschool group means giving my kids the opportunity to do and learn different things that I may not be covering right now.
I was thinking that for the preschool class, I'd like to focus a little more on simple science (basic experiments)
    days of the week
    animals
    etc.
things that may a little different from what mom is already teaching them during the week.
So what do u ladies think?
Are there any resources you can suggest?
Opinions, comments and thoughts are very welcome.

    I absolutely LOVE preschool!!!

I think you're saying you want a weekly THEME.

    Possible Ideas:

    The Farm
    The Circus
    Zoo Animals
    Insects
    Plants
    Space
    Dinosaurs

There's plenty of places on line that have preschool themed crafts. You can do the science (like you said), read a story, do a craft, possibly counting of some kind all based on the theme. You could incorporate your letters into it, too, if you wanted.

I will be teaching BFIAR for our co-op Pre-K / K class. It is a great program. It involves all aspects of preschool knowledge : bible, language arts, colors, patterns, art, science, etc. I suggest you look at the teacher guide and see if it is what you are looking for. I was excited to find something like it that already had everything planned out for me :)
