Can anyone tell me how different these 2 are? We are using Horizons currently and I don't really like it. Thinking of switching next year.

We did Life pac's briefly, my kids and myself felt like there wasn't enough information. We are use to BJU and my kids seem to really like that.

HOrizon is more exciting and moves faster. for math I would choose Horizon.
The life paks from BJU are lacking, they have a nice set up but need more input I think. They work for beginging home schoolers... for organising and for easy needing student work. but I would choose Horizon over LP for everything , you can get 7th grade there now too!

I know there are people who love LifePacs, and if that works for you, great ... but personally, I think they're very boring, over-priced, and not rigorous enough. I'd choose Horizons given a choice between only those two. Horizons is more advanced/fast-paced and more interesting/colorful.

Or if you like the idea of workbooks, you could look into Christian Light. Their Sunrise Edition math is lightyears beyond Lifepacs. www.clp.org The explanations and examples are great! The kids can work very independently, or you can be as involved as you want to be. Occasionally I'll use Saxon math (if somebody enrolls with me mid-year), but I'll never go back to Lifepacs for math again!
