Students being tracked like cattle What stood out to me the most was that this was about how much money they could "recover" rather than about the student missing out on part of their education, or making sure the kids were safe.
I notice that there is no mention of parental accountability. Tell me again, why is it the school's job to keep track of students? shouldn't the parents be aware of whether the kid is on campus or not? it really is all about the $$$$$!
Oh gee. Um. How easily I could hand my badge to my friend and skitter off campus. Or leave it in my locker. This accomplishes NOTHING other than for the school to be able to say, "See, they were on campus all day. Give us cash."
But the government knows how to solve everything, right? Okay just a little sarcasm there. Whenever my dh takes a job in CA they need a work history for the last ten years. We have asked why 10 years and believe it or not we have been told that it is so the government can keep track of us. I'm sure that they have nothing better to do than keep track of us.
