This is our first year homeschooling, but I started planning out what I wanted to do around January last year for what we started in the fall. I haven't started planning for next fall yet though, and I probably won't until spring.

So when do you start planning out your next year?

I'm the wrong person to ask. I'm a plan-a-holic.

I am always in the process of planning for the following year. This way, when it comes time to order, I have a basic idea of what I would like to order.

As soon as I find out whether what we're using is a decent fit and is working pretty well, I start planning for the following fall. I have already made a list for next fall, for example. I make this list, and keep it, and refer back to it every so-often, and sometimes change things -- sometimes several times -- as we go through the school year. If it's still on my list when we get to the end of the school year, I'll probably either get it out because I already have it, or order it if I don't have it. I'm a plan-aholic, too!!!

I'll probably start in spring unless I have extra time this winter.

since I buy our materials with our tax refund check, I start right about now. In fact, I have spent a couple of hours today looking for next year's science. that's the only thing I am changing for next year. For the first time, I am happy with everything else we use. If I had a science I liked, planning would literally take me just seconds.

I just finishing getting my younger daughters materials ordered. I know what I need for my older daughter but I have not purchased it yet. I try to find it used first, and what I can't find used I will buy new. Last year I waited til late spring and the used materials were in hot demand, so this year I am shopping early.

I have been working our our new year (starts in Jan) for about 2 months now. Mostly because I need to budget for the new materials but also just because I love planning!

I continuously plan and jot down books I'd like to use or ideas that come up that I'd like to try. I am a planning junkie though. Friday is my dd's last day of 2nd grade and we will begin 3rd grade in mid January. I've been seriously planning and scheduling and finalizing for a month.

Another ALWAYS person! I usually have all books for next year bought by the end of May, beginning of June, or at least looking hard at the USED BOOKS sites for them. And with the possibility of Rachael going to a cyber-school next year, that needs to be decided NOW.

I am also always working on my future plans. I have the main books already picked out and on my "wants" list in the hopes I'll have some gifted to me during the holidays, but then I keep looking all year round for the extras that make our learning so much more fun and complete.

I like to start planning by April, but last year it happened in August. I usually have ideas in the back of my mind though, so it's not like I'm starting from scratch. I don't order anything until I've finished the current school year, unless it's an amazing sale.

I have already started planning on what I want to do with my kids and I dont even have any yet, lol.

I haven't needed to plan anything major for my current students as 6yo and 8yo are in a Cyber school and 4yo and I are going to get back on track of doing daily work In January.
