what are you and your little ones up to today? our 5 year old decided he wants to learn about the digestive system today. he is pretty excited about it my other one has a cold so we are doing all we need to get him back and happy again. they are starting the day with writing, just the one worksheet, adding a little more each and every day.they are getting better at their lower case letters.Their capital letters are great. what you up to today?
Well since it it 5:42am here. My day is quiet and full of coffee. My little one will not be up for another 2 or so hours. We are learning about Thanksgiving this month. Daddy suggested that we learn about it. Hit a little on the Mayflower, Pilgrims, Indians, the food they had then (then making our versions of it), the fun crafts that go along with Thanksgiving. This is a big deal to us, since daddy really does not add in to much info to what we cover.
My kids will be doing a LOT of copywork today - LOL. The 4-H fair board now says their project books all need to be done in their own handwriting (I re-wrote everything they did before because they wanted it legible).... so they have to copy them all over (4 books total)
Mine are at public school till the states sends me the paper to take them out. Not much longer though. Woohoo !!
We're hoping that the afternoon forecast is correct and it will actually hit mid-60s today. If it does, we're going to the nature center. It's been rainy and overcast for (no joke) the last 8 weeks, so my boys are in desperate need of outside time. The Nature Center has paved paths, so I don't have to worry about them getting too muddy  In the meantime, I'm still in "waking up" mode (it's 7:10 am). We'll have breakfast as soon as my youngest wakes up. Then we'll work on LA, Math, and Bible. And my 5 yo needs to work on his next verse for Awanas (he's shooting for another badge tonight). That's about it.
We are putting aside the books today since one of the co-op's we're involved in is hosting "International Day". Each kid takes a country and does a display board, etc. My oldest did Burkina Faso, and my middle is doing Legoland (all imaginary, it's really cool, actually). This is our first year participating, but we've gone all out. We found a recipe for a delicacy in Burkina Faso so we made it to take along. Also, my brother in law lent us a djembe (a type of african drum) to take with us. I think it's going to be FUN!
ooh we are all busy bees eh great to meet you. we do a little of each subject each day gradually building up,having as much fun as possible. we are so enjoying ourselves
We are in the middle of getting the house ready to sell....lol. So we are cleaning like mad, and trying to fit in a little preschool here and there in between. Thankfully the garden is all in and most of that is cleaned up, so now we can pretty much concentrate on the inside of the house. Tomorrow our local community thrift shop is having their annual Christmas sale. We are looking forward to that! It sounds like a pretty big event!
We are focusing on the Little Red Hen story this week. I have 8 different versions checked out from the library. We are reading each and talking about the similarities and differences. We ahve minibooks they are making, and a few worksheets and art projects from Evan moor. At the end of the week we will make homemade bread. The 2nd grader also does ETC3 (finishes that on Friday), Lifepac Language arts, and Horizons math each day. The kindergartener is doing Get ready for the Code and number learning games and worksheets.
Today we plan on working on finishing up last weeks spelling list... they will finish their assignments for today, (hopefully around lunch time)... then off to the store to get sack lunch stuff for our field trip tomorrow! then later on get ready for service tonight. It is just another normal Wednesday for us.
