My husband is a mechanic and has worked at the same shop for 9 years.. He's kicked around leaving this small shop for several years and it looks as though he may actually be doing it.. I'm VERY nervous.. The fact that he may be leaving is enough to cause that.. But then add to it the addition of physical limitations due to his back issues.. I'm praying for him to make the right decision.. Will you please pray too? Thanks all you prayer warriors!!
Well, Wednesday his boss asked to talk to him after work.. My husband gave him his notice. They had it out for a bit and hubby didn't back down.. He didn't say all that he wanted to.. He has given 9 years to this guy and is treated like crap.. Is on commission and is expected to run the shop on the drop of a hat with no compensation.. Basically working for free.. Never mind the fact that they leave to go on minivacations often and don't bother to pay him for all he has done.. This last time they took off, they paid him a partial check.. Left him with $300 to get by for almost two weeks and didn't seem to care that they didn't pay him a full check.. UGH! It's happened many times before.. There's way too much stuff happening there,so It's been time to go for awhile. His health has held him back.. His boss even threw that in his face.. My hubby is really hurt..
Praying for a wonderful job to open up for your husband where he will be treated fairly and appreciated!
Thanks guys.. Looks like he may be starting his own business.. I'm REALLY scared now!!! But excited at the same time.. Kinda feel bad for his former boss because he's taking some of his customers with him.. Some he brought to the shop when he came there anyway, but still.. He is now considered competition and I'm praying that the next two weeks go smoothly and he can leave on good terms.. He told his boss that when it's all said and done he will leave with his head held up high knowing that he gave 110% to the Auto Clinic.. And he has certainly done just that.. Even through all the issues we have had to deal with.. Promises made and not kept.. He has been there EVERY single day.. Even when he was throwing his guts up and in excrutiating pain.. We can count on one hand the days he has missed in the 9 years he's been there.. Running the shop, babysitting the help, and redoing mistakes the owner made.. Even training the owner on how to work some of the equipment.. He was most definatly an asset.. Taken for granted.. That old saying that you don't know what you have till it's gone comes to mind... I'm harboring some bad feelings towards the owners so please pray for me as well..
