I found this site with printable pages for children to learn about hurricanes and all the warnings that come with them if you're interested. http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/HAW2/english/kids.shtml
Brenda, Thanks getting that time of year again. Boy, hope it's not as bad as last year. TO much for old lady like me. Thanks for sharing.
Actually I was looking to see if I could find the names of the hurricanes for this year and I found those sites instead. Oddly enough, I didn't pay much attention to hurricanes (because we don't usually get too much from them - expept maybe some rain) until Katrina hit and then it was all that consummed our lives for such a long time (including the nightmare in which I threw my hubby out of bed one night and hurt my shoulder
For what it is worth, here is a list of hurricane names for the next several years: http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/aboutnames.shtml We pay pretty close attention to hurricanes for obvious reasons. ~ Marylyn
