I was just reading the obits and saw someone that I knew passed away. She was DD's speech therapist for two years and was wonderful with her. She did an eval on DS and worked him for a short time as well. I remember when she came to me and mentioned that her new grandbaby was named the same as my DD. It just tickled to me hear that. Mrs. H helped DD make huge gains with her speech. Whenever I ran into her she always asked after the kids. When I saw the obituary I just sat and cried. Even, now I am tearing up.
I am so sorry for the loss of your friend. We had a doctor for our oldest child who sent us a nice letter saying she was retiring and how she would miss Matthew and us. Then about a year later I saw where she had died of cancer. I realized then why she had told me she wanted to spend more time with her husband and family. I still think of Dr. Huntley and remember how kind she was.
that is very sad. I hope the family can find some comfort. A guy that works with my DH grandson (almost 2) died suddnly on Tuesday. its been a sad week here too.
i might also write a letter of appreciation and send to her children. i know it would bring great comfort to her loved ones, knowing what an impact she made in your families lives!
She was so kind and gentle. DS does not like loud people and Mrs. H was so soft spoken that DS felt so comfy with her.
I love the letter idea. I know I would love hearing things about a loved one that made them special to others. The Make A Wish donation is a wonderful memorial too.
