I'm on another homeschooling forum. I like it but I'm always aware it's no Homeschool Spot. This was especially obvious during the election when any thread that mentioned politics seemed to turn ugly. And then today I found a thread where I'd been having a nice, respectful conversation with some creationist moms ( like we have on here from time to time) was locked with no warning or explanation as to why. The other moms and I can only think it was because similar threads usually end up in flames and the mods got worried. This forum and the people on it rock. We can discuss stuff politely and are given the freedom to do so by the wonderful mods. That is all.
This forum doesn't get heated up like in other forums. I have downsized where I go and have kept this one because it doesn't have all the drama. If I want drama I can go watch a soap during the day.
Sometimes I feel like an old lady who is too set in her ways....and I come here, read the lovely, lively, respectful discussions that really make me think and reevaluate things. There are such blessings for me here....especially when I'm reminded to have some chocolate.... snicker
Yeah, the Spot is the only place to come where there is truly respect for each other. Or if there isn't at least we don't make a big hoot about it...LOL.
Diversity rocks, So does the spot. As long as everyone agrees that I am right, even when I am wrong, which no one would ever admit to anyway, because then they would be wrong and of course no one here is ever wrong anyway so that would be a conundrum unto itself and no one wants to start trouble even if on a cellar level that could be seen as seeding the argument for the latter eventual organic conclusions that all conversations are doomed to end up while concluding that I am always right. Heee heee heee Whatever gets me through the night... hahaha Sorry, it's been a great day on this end, so my funny bone is showing....
That post would make sense if didn't ignore the OBVIOUS fact that I am ALWAYS right. Really Jen, stop with the ego trips and start facing up to the truth.
I used to have a keychain (I'd still have it, but it broke ) that said, "I'm not opinionated, I'm just always right!" I'm here to keep Jen in check, and she's here to keep Dawninns in check....
