weight loss Congrats, y'all! That's great! DH has finally decided to diet along with me. We start tomorrow. Not "diet", just healthier eating, leaving out the junkfood, etc. When I met him he was a 34 waist -- 27 years ago. Now it's more like 48. Granted, he had a major car accident 9 years ago, and now he can't really exercise in the conventional sense. I, on the other hand, have developed diabetes and really really need to eat healthier, but that's hard to do when dh is bringing in donuts, m&m's, etc., all the time. Now that we're starting school, it'll be easier to get up, eat breakfast, have a light lunch, a small snack after school, and a reasonable dinner. I saw on television the other day, about this woman who had gotten to where she couldn't see her feet and tripped on the stairs. While she was on crutches in the house, she suddenly got up one morning really really hungry so she ate the leftovers from dinner the night before. She had more of that for lunch, but less because she wasn't as hungry. By dinnertime, she realy wasn't hungry so she ate something light like eggs - in other words, "breakfast". The next day she felt the same way and ate the same way. Soon she was eating that way all the time -- "dinner" for breakfast, moderate lunch, then "breakfast" for dinner. In ten months she'd lost tons of weight, and decided to keep on doing it that way. So they might have meat and veg or fish and veg in the morning, a smaller version of that for lunch, and a breakfast portion of breakfast foods for dinner. I've always been told, "Eat like a king in the morning, like a prince at noon, and like a pauper in the evening." And she's proved it true!
I weighed in 4 days ago and I had lost 21 pounds!! Wahoo! However...this weekend I splurged (our anniversary) and I gained 2 lbs back. No big deal to me....I will just have to run a little further this week to make up for it.
