I just got a Saxon Calculus set from craigslist for $3:shock: Mind you it is edition one and the answer book looks like it might have had coffee spilled on it, but who cares for that price. Next year sd will be working on Calculus so this is perfect for us. I have to really keep my eye on that board!
Me too, I love love love craigslist! I've gotten so much stuff off of there, a bookshelf, living room set, a bed for ds's room. Today I bought diapers, I got a swaddlebees diaper and I think 15 doublers for $10! I'm a happy girl!
I love craigslist too but to sell things there its gotten tougher. I went to post free kittens the other day and someone flagged me. When I asked they wouldnt tell me, very confusing and reading the forums it looks about the same complaints. To even post was a heart ache I had to call to verify a phone number. They must having a lot of trouble with spammers to resort to this Sam ps I am happy you found what you found thats always exciting
A few months ago I got a bunch of old public school textbooks and some homeschol books for $20. I kept what I will use in the future and will sell the rest for .25 -$5 a piece at our curriculum fair. It really amazes me what you can find.
I am leary of buying stuff from individuals over the internet. I guess I have just had a bad experience with someone (send the money, no item sent) and now I am really leary about buying from someone who isnt under contract (like ebay or amazon). Its too bad when you get messed over, it sours you to trusting people on the internet to keep their end of the deal.
craigs list keeps some people feeding thier kids, so I love them too! ( I have a family that I know that sells stuff via craigs list to help ends meet for meals) Think of that when you see what they have for sale for a good price and you want to get a lower one... dont be afraid to ask why they are selling either!
yes! they do, We have bikes, furniture plants for our garden, in fact most of our huge corner home garden is full of free plants from craigs list!
I LOVE craigslist! My husband and I are using Dave Ramsey's plan to get out of debt and we funded our $1000 emergency fund in 5 days using craigslist! It's super simple and way easier that ebay because it's all local and you get to see what your buying before handing over the money. The only complaint I have is that we get a lot of no-shows when we sell things.
I usually go with dh or send him to get things we buy from craigslist. Dh is supposed to put his bike up on craigslist (he rides one of his brother's motorcycles now so why do we need 2 in the garage??) but he has not gotten around to it. I can imagine that there are no shows but I guess that is just something you need to factor in when choosing craigslist over ebay.
When we moved, we sold almost all our furniture in rural MI on Craigslist - it was great and well needed!
I love Craigslist, too! We have gotten so many things from there...our dining room set (practically new but 1/4 the price of new), DH's recliner, my $5 bread machine that gets used every week, $1,000 worth of literature curriculum for grades 1 to 5 for only $50...lots of odds and ends. I even hooked up with a local mom whose oldest son is a couple years older than mine, who sells me hand-me-downs really cheap. (That reminds me: I need to see if she has anything for winter...) I sold my son's old race car bed on it a few years ago...two years after I bought it on Craigslist! LOL And I got the same price I paid for it. I really need to sell more stuff on there. For safety reasons, I don't go to anyone's house nor have anyone come here. We meet at neutral locations convenient to both of us (McDonald's parking lots, etc.)
Craigslist is all local stuff though, at least for most people, you go see the item and then pay the person for it. I love Craigslist too. I sold a bunkbed and bought my dd a vanity off of there. Kristine
is this like a local version of ebay? we have freecycle over here, where people just put up stuff they want rid of, my DH was always getting pc towers of there untill i threw a strop because my kitchen was full of them. theres been alsorts on there, from african land snails to pianos.
Craiglist is not an auction site it is like an online classifieds. They have everything on there. It is one of the first places I look for things.
