Thank you Lorna. We are dealing with a child that has been physically abused. He is so angry. The past five yrs that Blaze has lived with us have been difficult, but we felt we were making progress. I dont think that to be true anymore. We are looking for a program, if you could pray God shows us where is best for him. Thanks!! God is good and has a plan for this boy life.
ABSOLUTELY!!! And God is more than capable to turn our pasts around, heal us, and make us stronger because of them. Praying that you find what is needed to help Blaze heal from his past hurts, to forgive, and to move on.
Crystal, I don't know if you're looking for something like this, but it's an idea. The guy that runs this place was out in our area and did a little seminar. He's had a LOT of success. He's supposed to be writing a book, not sure if it is out yet or not. It may be something that Blaze needs! There are a lot of very interesting stories and info. on there. I also just noticed that his book IS out. I may get one, he is sooo good with children, it'd be interesting to see what is in his book! Deena, I've got friends that run a similar place called the Flying H Ranch, in Naches, Washington. They're lovely people who have raised two boys. And they're part of the reason I homeschool. We had two families in the church I attended as a young adult that homeschooled, and this was one of them. Kathy had a wonderful way of letting her boys be boys, but the minute she said Enough, they stopped just like that.
I would love to go to a place like that and just absorb the knowledge they have gained over the years! I think it'd be GREAT to be able to deal with tough problems, and help kids like that! I'm just soooo impatient with that kind of thing, and draw blanks when they do some things. I get so surprised and think, "Well, NOW what do I do???!!!" So, I pray for others in those endeavors, and try to do what GOd wants ME to do in my little world!
I agree with you Deena it would be need to go to a place like that and see how they do it and what ideas they give us. It would be fun and great all at the same time.
Praying for Blaze Crystal... (and for you guys as parents as well). God can move mountains and with the right counselling or therapy, Blaze can be turned around and his past can become a positive building block as opposed to the destructive like it may be right now (I don't know - just assuming). When he can conquer his past, what an awesome opportunity he may have...
Thank you VERY much Deena. That is exactly the kind of place we are looking for. Rod and I felt that we could do therapy and love him, love him, love him and he would be ok. Blaze needs more then we have to offer right now. His biological mother is the abuser here and the pain for Blaze is deep. Thank you all for continued prayers. We really need them.
Crystal. I am praying for you and Blake.No child should be abused . I thank God every day for people like you that open your heart to children in need.
Crystal, I don't know how much it costs, but I hope you can check it out. Their seminar was just outstanding! He and his wife are real, down to earth people, and can be very humerous. But they have made a world of difference in so many kids' lives that it just touched my heart! I'd recommend them in a heartbeat! Oh, I guess I did that already! :lol: They are very good Christians also, which is what I would want for my child! Keep us updated in how things go for Blaze. Thank you. Please continue to pray. Pray that God opens Blaze's heart to a program, he is unwilling to go at this point and most of the programs that we have been in contact with need his willingness to go and go with an open mind and heart to change. Blaze is very angry.
That is just too sad. I feel so for him. Also for you and Rod. I am really praying for help in this situation. Lorna
