I posted several times on here in the last couple of months about my struggle to decide on the right curriculum for us this year. I really felt like last year was almost a "lost" year because we were so scattered. I didn't feel like the kids learned nearly what they needed to, academically. I really felt like a boxed curriculum was what we needed to get back on track. So, here's what we ended up with: MFW Creation to Greeks for younger 3 (Bible, History, Science, Art, Music) MFW Ancient History and Literature for dd14 (Bible, History, Literature, she's also joining us for Art and Music with some supplementing) Rosetta Stone Spanish for all 4 DS7-CLE Reading, LA, and Math DD8-CLE Reading and LA. Singapore Math DD11-CLE Reading and LA. Singapore Math DD14-Apologia Biology, LOF Physics (later PreAlgebra I and II) Since I felt that we basically missed last year (except for dd14, she is a very independent learner), I decided to start them all a grade level back for CLE. Right now, I have ds7 in level 101 for everything, dd8 in grade 2, and dd11 in grade 4 (actually 2 grades behind for her, but where she needs to be). We're only 1 1/2 weeks in, but I am loving it so far! All the levels seems to be the perfect fit and I can see them all learning so much already. We're enjoying the history so far and the kids are loving Rosetta Stone. It feels so good to finally feel like I got it right!
YAY!! I have spent 2 years bouncing around for all the content stuff... music, art, science, history, geography. I just can't find one thing I'm happy with, and I can't seem to blend the things I like without over loading us.. I hope your "good picking" vibes rub off on me!!
