Just thinking but this is one of the joys of home schooling that we can do whatever level the child needs, desires etc, and run with it untill it is done!

    Yup. :)

The only time grade level comes up with my kids is when I register them each year and if someone asks what grade they're in, in which case I'll just give them the grade their registered at.

My grade 7 age daughter is using a grade 7 math text that's well beyond what they're doing in grade 7 here. She's using gr. 5-6 "gifted" grammar, poetry. Gr. 4-5 outlining book. Grade 7 Science. Grade 1 French and Latin meant for homeschoolers and adult learners.

My grade 3 age son is using a grade 2 math text that's more like the grade 3 stuff here. He's using grade 1-2 reading and spelling materials. 3-4 science and SOTW where ever that fits.

Basically, they're al over the place but they're learning just fine. Occasionally I get worried about grade level but frankly, I homeschool so I can meet them where they're at in terms of ability and interest. Why on earth upset that by becoming obsessed with a rather arbitrary number?

You're doing fine. You're daughter is doing fine. Have fun! :)

Totally agree with everyone else. Don't worry about grade level at all! My son will be in "3rd grade" but there are a couple area's that will be below that. He don't need to know that or make a big deal of it though. Just go with it. That is one of the joys of homeschooling and not dealing with the public school system anymore!
