Hi there (-: I was just browsing, but reading this post made me take the 5 minutes to register!! I've always said if I won the lotto, I'd keep teaching (I was a teacher in the past), but buy my very own smartboard, so I can completely feel you! I can't post a direct link, but if you'll google wii remote and smartboard you will find that there are some pretty crafty people out there who can show you through you tube how to create your own. I haven't actually done it yet, but it is really neat.

    Very cool!!!!!!

Thanks for sharing, guess what Santa is bringing this year??? Yep, a Wii (finally!!!!), now how do I figure out if my computer is bluetooth compatable? It's only going on 2 years old and is an emachine desktop.

eta  I'm not even sure what the heck bluetooth is, just know it may have something to do with cell phones (not the most techie person here..lol)

no you don't need the wii, but I haven't been able to find a cheap alternative to a projector... unless we just used the flat screen on the computer?

I think I just might try getting a bluetooth thing for my computer and seeing if we can just use the screen after Christmas.. more like income tax time, it's the only time I have any play money.

It looks like a little adapter that goes in a USB port and would let you connect a wii remote to your computer... I am thinking your computer has to be bluetooth compatable. I haven't looked too much, I'm still not sure I want to go through the hassel of it since with only 4 kids I can get them all around the computer screen (not like they all would be anyway with the age gaps) and they can do whatever it is they need to do with the keyboard and mouse. Having use of a pen type instrument would be nice, but I'm not sure it would be practical for a homeschooling situation.

I'm not a very tech-y type person, this does sound cool, but I'm just not sure I'm seeing the need for it here. I think something scaring me away is the cost of a projector, the cheapest I found on ebay for one that said it worked was $250 that is way more than my budget would ever allow.. even at income tax time, for something I wasn't sure was going to be used enough to justify it.

okay so the blue tooth capability does what for you? Lets you phone someone through the computer or waht? talk to the kids via the computer? or tell the computer what to do? Thats what I want to know, what is the thing that makes this something I would want ?
How will it help you, and why would you need a projector ( BTW you could just get another computer screen and set it so its connected, ds did this before when he had a smaller computer screen than he needed to watch movies on.
