I need an idea for a cake that is just over the top wonderful. I don't really care if it is healthy, or easy. I want it to be one of those ones that looks great in the picture and taste wonderful! I always make cut out cakes for my kids and I want a cake that taste good, not just look cool.
A few of my wants, I am not a big chocolate eater. But if it is just wonderful I will eat it and enjoy it. HMMM I think that is about it. So send me links to cakes, pies, tarts etc anything that is great. Like super duper special cakes. :D

coconut cake........ its easy, use a Butter recipe boxed mix. I"m telling you its not really cheating, they are good!
It took me 14 years to getting around to making this cake for my husband and when I finally did, I understand why he likes them so much. ........ if you like coconut...... try it

basicly you mix sour cream and coconut flakes and (VANILLA) with cool whip...... here is one recipe..... don't go by the picture,

I always find the best cake as a treat to me is the one I don't have to bake. Not that the baking is so bad, but I hate having to clean up the kitchen after.

Oh I love all those suggestions. It is going to be fun picking one out. I would usually agree that just buying one, or having one made would be nice most of the time. But I really want to bake something just for me. I am always making things other people want, or to please somebody else. I want to spend the time to do something for me. My boys birthday is the week after mine, so I have actually not had anything for my birthday since he was born. This year is going to be different!

It doesn't have to be a cake, it could be any kind of dessert. : )

    Happy Birthday!

I don't have any recipes to share at the moment, but I LOVE a spice cake with cream cheese frosting; or a white cake with raspberry filling and whipped cream frosting; or a Boston creme pie. And of course- CHEESECAKE!! I made one years ago and lost the recipe- I've looked for it ever since. It was a lime cheesecake and SO delicious. If anyone has that recipe to share I would love it!

I can so relate to this!!!! My middle son was born 3 days after mine AND the day after 9/11. Yes...not the anniversary of 9/11....but the day after it actually happened. My birthday is ALWAYS forgotten.

    (((HUGS))) and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!

I normally just make a cheese cake, the one my husband likes for my birthday. But this year, I am getting my dd 14 to make a cake that I want! Who cares if hubby does not like cake... its chocolate with a chocolate cream cheese icing, yum, yum!

I was going to let you all know that I didn't get to make my cake after all. With my little girl so sick I got way behind in everything. : ( But, one of my best friends (who is a guy) took us out and we were with adults and had a great time. My friends girlfriend bought me a very cute, and tasty cake! It was an awesome time. I so enjoyed it. It was the first birthday since I turned 21 that I actually celebrated. It was good for my soul.

All these make me droll. Go to taste of home's website and type in tiramisu toffee torte. This is a cake that I always get a request for the recipe. To make it look even better when the cake is all done drizzle chocolate syrup on top and sprinkle with Health pieces. Now this is coffee flavored but not very strong.

I'm glad that you got to celebrate even if you didn't get to make your cake of choice. :)
