then take a look at our latest lapbook! This was our third one, and this is the simplest one we have done, mostly because I was making the stuff up for it and I am not that creative! So if I can do it, anyone can!
Yep, very cute! I like the extra caps, and him putting them on a picture of himself---neat idea! GREAT JOB!!!
Looks great! I love "Caps for Sale"! You aren't giving yourself enough credit... it all looks very creative.
very good! I love the creativeness I just wonder :how much ink do you use in your printer per lap book? Is everything printed in color? Does anyone do these lap books with older kids, I think they are cool but can't seem to motivate my kids for them.
Thanks, guys! Tmom, I am not sure how much ink I use. I do the refills instead of replacements when I can, so that cuts down some on the cost. And I print everything in draft/fast mode, too. For this lapbook, what I printed on the computer was: the little pictures of the hats for the petal books (small enough to fit on the address label); the monkey picture and the flapbook (also done in grayscale to save on ink); the pictures in the flapbook (pretty small, too); the big picture of Jack; and the cap outlines. I colored all the caps with crayons and for the two regular pictures I just sent those in to WalMart with some others I was printing. I never print regular pictures on my printer. Everything else was by hand on the address labels so that Jack could stick them on. Well, and I printed the pictures for him to glue on the cover. I like to print!!!:lol:
Looks great! We have only done one lapbook! LOL. I have stuff to keep us in lapbook business for months though. Maybe I should get started.
I am working at making booklets with my ds10, printing off similar stuff and having him put them in book form. Then we add them to the binder we have for our history according to---- I think books are more our style and we can have the same things in them, with flaps and such, like a pop up book. Ds enjoys the projects for a while then gets bored with it. So I am trying different ideas because I know he gets more out of it this way.
It looks great, Jen! Dd6 finished The Night Before Christmas yesterday. It was lots of fun. I love how you use books as the focus of your lapbooks. I need to do that more, especially with dd4.
Thanks, Pam. I got Before Five in a Row a while back and I wasn't too excited about it until I saw all the stuff on HomeschoolShare. Jack LOVES books, so I think we are going to head in a FIAR/Unit Study direction for quite a while. I do have some more "subject" type stuff that I have gotten from Hands of a Child, we just haven't gotten to it yet. He is really into The Snowy Day right now so we may do some stuff with that. To be honest, we really aren't doing much right now!!
I Like how it is a great book report idea! Using books and making the report fun like that.... gives me tons of ideas for my kids btw thanks!
Oh, I love The Snowy Day! I have a snow lapbook for my older ones to do in January, so I may do that with my youngest then. I need to see if our library has the Five in a Row curriculum. It sounds like soemthing I'd really like, but I've never seen an actual copy of it.
I love the lapbooks, you did a great job. It looks like your son had a good time, too. The book sounds like a book that Gianna would like. I have done 2 with Elijah. Ants and Mummies. He enjoyed doing them, but I think I enjoyed them just as much.
If you check my blog you can see dd6's completed Night before Christmas lapbook. We're starting the Nativity one today.
I love her Christmas one! I think we might do the nativity one I think you posted. We are taking it pretty easy with "school" stuff right now.
What a great lapbook! I may have to steal some of your ideas for when I do that book with my 4 yr old. We are working on our 3rd lapbook right now too. Once I buy new batteries for my digi cam I'll have to post pics of them on my blog.
