I'm going back to school! I'm going to school to become a massage therapist. Which mean DS won't have me around to hold his hand when he acts like he can't do anything. For the most part he is already independent. I never sit with him while he works. I have even been known to leave the house. I am only here for questions. I started this independent thing mid year last year because he is talking about going back to school for 6th grade and I won‘t be there. I plan to go over and lay his work out on the table the night before like I do now. The only difference is I’ll be gone by the time he gets up and I won’t be back until 5pm! Then I will go over his work and anything he missed will unfortunately be homework. I will have homework too. I am wondering how i will be able to do this.

He will be here with my mom but it's not the same. She has made it clear that she is not grandma pro- homeschooler. Does anyone work or go to school during the day while the kids homeschool? I kind off feel selfish but in 7 months I will be able to free lance work making about $60.00 per client. On average you have about 3 clients a day. So it kind of seems worth it in the long run.

My first thoughts when I saw the title were "God love you"

I just went back to school in September after being out for over 15 years. My re-entry course is web based with some travel required for my labs and clinicals but it is as intense (if not more so) than being in an actual classroom setting (asking questions is a challenge because the course builders aren't always at their desk when messages are sent).

Don't feel selfish! Think of the future... when your children have grown up and functioning on their own, what do you have left for options? If schooling your son is more convenient in the evening - go for it. Homeschooling offers you flexibility to school them when it's convenient for your family and for you.

Hats off for making this choice!
