Hi, I'm new here, but not new to hsing. We've been hsing since the beginning, officially I began with pre-k when my oldest was 4. We have used Sonlight for the most part, but we did use Beautiful Feet's Early American History for 1 year. We will be starting Core 3 in July and I'm looking forward to it. Dh and I have been married 13.5 years and have 4 dc: 3 girls and a boy(who refuses to potty train - I'd welcome ideas on that) I'm looking forward to getting to "know" you. This looks like a really great place to hang out.
Welcome, Vikki! I'm Jackie, I've been hs'ing from the beginning. My kids are dd12, dd10, and ds6. I used BF History one year, but found it difficult because I was trying to combine the primary for my middle child with the intermediate for the older. They didn't mesh very well! I just finished two years with all three doing "The Mystery of History Vol. I". It went very great, even with the differences in age!
Welcome, I am one of the Amys you will meet. I have been homeschooling my son for the last 2.5 years. He is 11 years old. I am really enjoying it and my son is learning so much and much more comfortable now that we are hs. Again welcome and I'm sure we will be talking again.
I love MOH, but we do it as an extra. I think it'll take a while to get through it, but it'll be a good review as we go along. I didn't like BF history's guides. I really felt like they were lacking in teacher instructions and depth.
Hi Vikki and Welcome. I hs my 2 children, dd is 9 and ds is 5. We've been homeschooling for three years and I love it. I also taught ps, but IMO this is so much more rewarding and fun! I love being able to see my kids everyday, how they grow and change! Glad you have joined this group. You have already helped me with the info on the IOWA test. Hope I can help you in some way as well!
