I am using Easy Grammar, and I hate it. It is driving me crazy, and not working well for my kids. I think because I don't really want to spend that much time on grammar, and it is taking a long time, and a ton of worksheets.

I would love something that was like LOF just a book we could read and talk about. Just something different.

I would be using it with my 6yo dd and 8 yo ds, doing 2nd and 3rd grade.
    Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

Have you checked out any Brian P. Cleary books at the library? Those are great! They're just stories, but they're so cool for the younger level! He has a website with games, too. I like the books, though.

scholastics.com look for grade level and grammar, My kids liked color and they had that, we had thick books that came with CD to play practice games on computer that went with the lessons.

The Humpties had a real fun approach to teaching grammar. There are different egg-shaped personalities for each part of speech, i.e. Father Noun and Mother Verb. My kids really enjoyed them.

Mad Libs and making sure they spoke correctly pretty much covered it until they were older. We started Easy Grammar in 6th grade and they've done fine. Their foreign language requires a good bit of understanding of English grammar too and that's been fine as well.

I forgot that our Latin covers some grammar too. I think with a couple of these books, Latin, and just talking about it will do wonders for us.

This stuff looks great! :D I think I'm going to use it to supplement our current grammar.
