Anyone else a fan here? Well...I'll tell ya...I am a HUGE FAN! I've been listening to them and going to see their shows for many years and I finally got to meet them on Saturday. It just so happens that they are touring with Brandon Heath, and a cousin of a friend of mine is his piano/keyboard player (Joe). So, we got to see them before the show and again afterwards. Talk about some of the NICEST, most humble, and sweet guys! Not only do they put on one heck of an amazing show, but it was a great pleasure to meet them. I took Tanner...which was his first concert. The poor kid was SO nervous that he could barely get a word out. Here is a pic of us and all of them before the concert. From left to right...Steve, Brandon Heath, Matt, Me, Tanner, Charlie (wearing my VIP pass), and Dan.
Yeah, go ahead, just keep rubbing it in (Actually, I can't say much. I've met TONS of Christian artists. Heck, my best friend is Greg X Volz's daughter.) In all seriousness, that's fantastic! It sounds like you had a grand old time. And I'm sure your son will never forget that night.
LOL It WAS an amazing time. I really wanted his first concert to be memorable...and it was. I got to see my favorite band of all time and hang out with them. What more can a gal ask for? lol
My best friend from years ago went to church/school with Michael W. Smith. Does that count? VERY cool!!!
That is amazing!!! I can't wait to tell my kids I know someone who meet Jars of Clay and Brandon Heath. lol. My 5 year old LOVES Jars of Clay. We used to have to play Dean Man over and over again by her request when she was like 2. She still loves that song. We are all sick of it...LOL.
Ava, Dead Man is Tanner's favorite song from them. When they started playing it he got SO excited! lol I got some of it on video too. He also puts in the CD and plays it on repeat. They may be my favorite band, but even a good song on repeat is too much! lol After the concert Steve and Charlie remembered Tanner's name. Steve looked at Tanner and said "TANNER...how was your first concert buddy?"! Tanner couldn't think of anything else but "It was AWESOME!". lol He was so star struck, it was so funny. We were informed that they will be touring with Toby Mac after they are done with this tour. Tanner wants to go to that one now so he can personally say hi to the guys again and meet Toby Mac. I think I've created a monster. HA!
Oh, my girls would die to meet Toby Mac! Isn't it nice for Tanner to have some "star" role models that you don't have to worry about!
