    Any advice?

I have been reading about Orthen-Gillinaham (sp?) and especially the Barton Method of reading. This is all new to me.

what type of dislexia and how do you know?
have you had him tested? becuase from one site I looked at everyone would be considered dislexic you have to be sure. My advice will be different, dont tell him, just teach him more patiently.

Check out All About Spelling www.all-about-spelling.com It's used OG methods.

Also, join the yahoo group HeartofReading. It's for homeschool parents with children that have dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, etc or just for kids that struggle with reading/spelling. LOTS of folks on there use Barton (and Wilson and others). There is an excellent review of All About Spelling in the files section.

My DD9 is using AAS level 2 (started with level 1). It has been a great program and not babyish for the older student.
